Summary:Letter on War Office embossed and headed note paper, signed "Edward Talbot", informing Mr. Cripps (probably Charles Alfred Cripps, Baron Parmoor) that William St. John Fremantle Brodrick, Earl of Midleton, has asked him to acknowledge receipt of Cripps' letter relating to Thomas [Ladeir?] of the 4th Manchester Regiment.


Viscount Fitzalan assumed by Royal license the surname "Talbot" in 1876 in order to succeed as Earl of Shrewsbury.

William St. John Fremantle Brodrick, Earl of Midleton, was secretary for state of war from 1900 to August 1903.
