| Summary: | Album of 44 original drawings bound in contemporary cloth; 26 of the original drawings in this album are by Mary Birkett - these include 7 watercolours of the Curragh Camp and Athgarven Lodge, County Kildare, Ireland. These are signed or initialled and dated 1859 to 1872. Album also contains 4 small watercolours "Views on the Illinois by Miss Pigot of Southall, Byron's friend", this being Elizabeth Pigot, (1783-1866), a close friend of Lord Byron. Includes a variety of other prints and ephemera, some of Irish interest. |
