Inscribed on wrapper of first part 'William Larmini[e] / le mór mheas ó'n gCraoibhín Aoibhinn / Lughnasa mdccclxlv' [1895]. Wrappers for parts II and III are ar rear of LO 14647.

Compiled by Douglas Hyde from stories he heard from Gaelic speakers, published in Rennes, France by Oberthür in 1895, 1897, and 1901, three parts complete, comprising of 264 pages. LO 14647 is an important presentation copy of Hyde's most substantial collection of Irish folk-tales, presented as he heard them at the firesides of Connacht. William Larminie, from Castlebar, was the editor of a well-known collection of West Irish Folk-Tales and Romances [1893].
