I'm sure we all know the old saw “Leitrim, where the snipe wear wellingtons”? This Eason image of a thatched cottage surrounded with trees, bushes, rushes, and with Crumphin Mountain in the distance would seem to make this a truism. Life was tough on the land in Leitrim, and this illustrates it very effectively!

This photo record seems to be the only reference anywhere to Crumphin Mountain.

Flickr is sometimes amazing! In 2017 via [https://www.flickr.com/photos/kewing/] Good to see the cow is still flourishing 100 years on ... [https://www.flickr.com/photos/kewing/36526982732/]

[https://www.flickr.com/photos/beachcomberaustralia] Even with upsidedowny mode switched on I still think it is a small tree cut down with maybe some ivy on it.

[https://www.flickr.com/photos/91549360@N03] Could be Glenade Post Office, alright, judging by the OSI, which once again won't export a link. Sure the only reason Eason photographs anything in Leitrim is because it's a post office.

On the megazoom, it looks as there may be a Nymph Disturbed While Bathing in the gap in the hedge beside the end of the house.

[https://www.flickr.com/photos/bernardhealy] Yes. It's hard to tell if there's enough flat ground to get that view. The ground could fall away behind the house (as it does in streetview), but where has the photo been taken from?

Looking at the shape of the ben, I think it must be down here in the valley somewhere near Glenade school: goo.gl/maps/DLJivUpdLVyCQuRr8

Mind you, there's also no evidence that it isn't round the other side and swapped left to right.

O Mac
derangedlemur Did you see those ruins behind the house in your last Streetview above? Might well be the location. Angles look right.
