... which is much nicer than an Egg and Foul Market! Love this shot for the huddles of women, the bored-looking children hanging around the cart, but especially for the little terrier that halted whatever he'd been doing to pose for the photographer.
That's St. Nicholas' Church behind the railings. At the far corner was a Boot Merchants, and that's Connolly's along the side street.

I’m no Galway boffin, but I would say the Church of Ireland St. Nicholas is on the left, one would be looking in the direction of Shop Street?
If so the street according to bing.com maps would be Churchyard Street?.

Look at how crisp and clear the shot is for 1905? Beautiful! Like you NLI I noticed the terrier posing for the camera, he's nearly as camera conscious as the kids against the cart!

Comparing the photo and the streetview you can see that the tree on the far left of the picture is the same species as the much larger one in the streetview shot - I wonder if it is the same tree?
