Summary:Four Irish legal figures are depicted - William Downes, 1st Baron Downes and Chief Justice of the King's Bench in Ireland accompanied by Thomas Manners-Sutton, 1st Baron Manners and Lord Chancellor of Ireland with John Toler, 1st Earl of Norbury and Chief Justice of the Court of Pleas in Ireland and Standish O'Grady, 1st Viscount Guillamore and Chief Baron of the Exchequer in Ireland. Behind them hanging on the wall is a print of John Philpot Curran on horseback carrying papers; the print is entitled "Master of the Scrolls" while the image handing alongside on the wall is a view of the Four Courts. Several books and legal papers are scattered on the table and floor nearby including amongst the briefs and decrees, a document that reads: “Sidebotham / McCleary / Action for / Piracy of Copyright”
