Mary Donegan Papers,

1910-1999.

Papers compiled by the Irish-American republican Mary Donegan, relating to conditions in Ireland during the War of Independence, the funding of the White Cross and the treatment of republican prisoners in the early years of the Irish Free State. Included are letters to Donegan, sent to her in the United States from various correspondents, her scrapbooks containing poems and newscuttings and published pamphlets and magazines. Also included are photographs of Donegan taken throughout her life. The collection also contains documentation relating to the donor, Sean Prendergast of Carlow coverning the years 1981-1999.

[n.d.], a printed poem titled 'The Young Girl, Dedicated to Mrs. Terence McSwiney' by Rosalie M. Moynahan [1920], a receipt issued to the Terence MacSwiney Council of the A.A.R.I.R. for their donation to the Irish Republican Election Fund (1924), a blank sheet of headed paper of the American Auxilary of the Irish White Cross (Donegan is listed as its President) and newscuttings.
