Notes:Eimar O’Duffy was a dramatist and novelist. He Joined the IRB and the Irish Volunteers and contributed to their newspaper the Irish Volunteer. In 1916 he and Bulmer Hobson warned Eoin MacNeill of the impending Easter Rising. He was sent to Belfast by MacNeill to dissuade volunteers from rising there. He believed that the rising was a mistake and his political views made it difficult for him to obtain employment in an independent Ireland. He lived in both England and Paris and produced various works including his famous Cuandine trilogy. He married Cathleen Patricia Cruise O’Brien (aunt of Conor Cruise O'Brien) in 1920, with whom he had a son Brian and a daughter Rosalind. He died in England in 1935.
