Autograph letter, signed, from Sean O'Casey to Mai McCarthy,
1956 Jan. 12.
O'Casey first refers to McCarthy's studies, then talks about his own work of correcting galley proofs of 'The Green Crow' book. He says he is nursing a sore foot, and misses being able to walk around St. Marychurch; he gives some of the history of Torquay and Torre Abbey, whose ruins still stand. He hopes that the producers of his play 'Red Roses for me' will find another theatre; and says he hopes McCarthy has done the right thing in resigning from her job.
