Summary:Comprises letters of the Cullen family mainly written during the period 1840s-1870s. The most prominent member of this family was Cardinal Paul Cullen. A large number of the letters are in his hand and addressed to various family members resident in Liverpool. Correspondents include Hugh Cullen, Margaret Cullen, Mary Cullen, Michael Cullen, M. Verdon and Cardinal Patrick Francis Moran.


Also includes a number of newspaper clippings 1850s-1870s.

Provenance:Donated by Jim Dorgan, 15 October 2021. This collection of letters came via his mother who is descended from the Cullen family. Letters were bound, as a gift, by an editor of Cullen's published letters.
