Notes: | Between 1850 and 1920, CDSP Co. [the City of Dublin Steam Packet Company] operated a mail and passenger service between Dún Laoghaire [then known as Kingstown] and Holyhead, Wales. The company has the contract to carry mail across the Irish Sea; the four ships covering the route carried the prefix R.M.S., [for Royal Mail Steamer] and they were nicknamed the “Provinces” as they were named R.M.S. Connaught, R.M.S. Leinster, R.M.S. Munster and R.M.S. Ulster. Physical description: 33 vols. more |
