Crawford Neil, who loved writing light verse, was an attendant at the National Library of Ireland and an innocent casualty of the Rising. He was born 20 January 1887.

Summary:Letterpress printing of a short verse, the original written by a library assistant in the National Library of Ireland, Mr. James Crawford Neil, (1887-1916). It is a parody of W.B. Yeats' twelve-line poem "The Lake Isle of Innisfree" written in 1888. Printed at bottom of sheet of card in red coloured font is "The Wild Apple Press" with the image of an apple with a piece bitten out of it.
