The Cluna Studio was established at 39 Harcourt Street, Dublin in 1923 by Gertrude M. Grew from Portadown; she studied at the School of Art in Belfast and the Royal College of Art, London. Margaret [also known as 'Daisy'] O'Keefe from Wexford joined Gertrude in 1924 - she had studied at The Metropolitan School of Art, Dublin. They made jewellery, enamelled metal work, stencilled fabrics garments for children, coloured embroidery, hand coloured prints, calendars, cards and handpainted woodwork. In the 1940's, the Cluna Studio moved to 54 Dawson Street; it closed in the 1950's.
