Summary: | Christmas postcard featuring the image of the infant Jesus in a manger, his mother Mary kneels adjacent to him and greets shepherds (at right) of the scene. A lamb is depicted on the straw on the ground in front of the infant Jesus. Behind Mary stands the figure of Joseph, leaning on a staff, while a shepherd kneels beside him and two of the Magi are depicted carrying gifts as they enter into the stable. A horse and bull along with several angels (including one holding a trumpet) and cherubs are depicted in the background. Underneath this printed in black font (against a green background) in Cló Gaelach is "Guidhim Nodlaig maith agat" ["I wish you a good Christmas"]. Verso of card blank. Printed in black ink on verso is: "Fergus O'Connor Dublin. - Publisher to the Trade". |
