Notes:This was evidently a promotional publication inviting potential subscribers to make a financial commitment to the extension of the Lancaster project to Ireland. The pamphlet includes a descriptive essay by Lancaster himself, a list of subscribers with their contributions, and a eulogistic comment by Samuel Whitbread. Lancaster, who had made several visits to Ireland in 1806 where he had established several schools, announces here that "it is intended to publish an Abridgement of the System of Education for the benefit of the poor in Ireland."
