Summary:Souvenir programme, featuring an image of the Elizabeth II on cover and images of her and her immediate family [grandparents, parents, her husband Philip Mountbatten and children Charles and Anne] inside the programme and documenting the events taking place in Derry to mark her coronation on the evening before, 1 June 1953 [that evening from 9.30-10-30 p.m. there was a performance in Guildhall Square by pipes and drums of the 5th Battalion The Royal Inniskinning Fusiliers with a Coronation Ball in the Guildhall organised by the British Legion and Royal Artillery Association] and on 2 June 1952 [at 9.30 am was a Coronation Parade, followed by a March Past and Salute at 9.35 am; a United Service in the First Derry Presbyterian Church at 10 am to 10.40 am; a Youth Rally in St. Columb's Park, Waterside; a March Past at 3.40 pm with a salute in the presence of Samuel Orr, the Lord Mayor and the [Church of Ireland] Lord Bishop of Derry and Raphoe and representatives of the Presbyterian and Methodist Churches; 4 pm Dedication Ceremony by the Lord Bishop of Derry and Raphoe of a Queen's Colour for the Londonderry Unit of the Sea Cadet Corps; 4.30 pm Displays in Arena by each organisation; 6 pm Grand Finale The Sunset Ceremony by Sea Cadets; 10.45 pm Bonfire at Strabane Old Road organised by the Londonderry Boy Scouts' Association]. On p.[3] is a short article entitled "The Coronation Regalia" and on p. [6] is an article entitled "Queen Elizabeth The Coronation Ceremony". A message from Samuel Orr, then Lord Mayor, is printed on back page of programme - "Fellow Citizens [,] In addition to the festivities planned for Coronation Day, we of Londonderry look forward to the honor of welcoming Her Majesty the Queen and H.R.H. the Duke of Edinburgh to our ancient city on the 3rd July during their official visit to Northern Ireland. Samuel Orr, Mayor".
