With performances of poetry during the 12 minuted interval. Production of 'The Linnaun Shee' by Evelyn MacNeice. Setting by Desmond Greene. Production of 'Deirdre' by Shelah Richards and Sybil Le Brocquy. Decor by Carl Bonn and harp music by Rhoda Coghill. Lighting devised by Udolphus Wright. "The cover design for this programme is by Norah McGuinness". With a list of patrons of the Lyric Theatre printed on verso [p. 4], which includes Dorothy Macardle, Rutherford Mayne, Lord Moyne, Frank Hugh O'Donnell, P.S. O'Hegarty and Jack B. Yeats, amongst others. Printed underneath the list of patrons is the following - "The Directors of the Abbey Theatre have kindly given a grant to help this performance. The Lyric Theatre, which is under the direction of Austin Clarke, wishes to thank all its' Patrons. This is the only dramatic unit which specialises solely in poetic drama, and its direct aim is to maintain the imaginative tradition of the Irish Theatre, which the poets of the literary revival made famous'. |
