An appeal to all members of the 'Regular' Army and Civic Guard. :
Comrades, At last a definite step has been taken to prevent the subversion of the Republic which is the object of the present Cabinet of Dail Eireann in the British Provisional Government. That step has been taken by the Army which created the Republic, defended it for five years against its foreign and domestic enemies, and is now determined that it shall remain. The Army brought the subjection of the Irish nation to an end...You, Comrades, cannot stand aside if you wish to serve your people truly and keep your own name honourable. /
