Summary:Letters to Joseph McGarrity, many of which are incomplete, have partial signatures and unknown authorships. Included is a letter written from Cahirsiveen, describing the political mood in Ireland in support of the British military at the start of World War I (dated August 1914), a letter of sympathy written to McGarrity following a bereavement and an incomplete letter concerning Peadar O'Donnell's contact with Soviet Russia and reports of an I.R.A. member losing his post as a teacher. These letters are for the most part undated.


Also included is an anonymous letter sent to McGarrity from an Irish-American, criticising his allegiance to Germany and Turkey which the writer views as against the interests of America [n.d.].
