Summary:Mezzotinit engraving of Catherine II of Russia, known as Catherine the Great of Russia, [born Sophie Friederike Auguste von Anhalt-Zerbst-Dornburg in Szczecin, Poland; then known as Stettin, in Pomerania]. Three-quarter length, face turned slightly and looking to front, wearing the Imperial Crown of Russia, (also known as the Great Imperial Crown) and ermine. Undated mezzotint, probably based on painting from circa post 22 September 1762, the date of her coronation in Moscow. Portrait of her son, Grand Duke Paul [(1754-1801), later crowned Paul I, Emperor of Russia] within a frame to her right, with books in front of this image, including 'Eta Blissements' [French, "And Buildings"] and 'L'Education Du Prince'.
