Summary: | There is a note underneath the cast list [which includes Máire Nic Shiubhliagh] with references to the fact that Padraic Pearse's copy of 'The Singer' was burnt in a fire at the publisher's office in the Easter Rising of 1916 and the fact that some dialogue is missing from the play [covering the exit of MacDara and the entrance of Diarmuid] will result, during the performance in the curtain being lowered during that point in time in the play. During the break ['Sos'] Gerald Crofts along with Maire Nic Shuibhlaigh are amongst the singers and Cathal Mac Dubhghaill is the accompanist. At the time this play was performed St. Enda's was operating from Cullenswood House, Oakley Rd., Ranelagh, Dublin and run by Margaret Pearse and Mrs. Pearse. There is a paragraph [p. 3] in the programme entitled "P.H. Pearse and Sgoil Eanna's Future". |
