Summary: | The author thanks Mr. Curran for sending him a petition of the Irish Catholics, which he guesses to date from betweeen 1681 and 1689. He discusses the proposed merger of two colleges at that time, the financial difficulties the Irish College had been in at an earlier date in the 17th century and the possibility that bad administration by the Jesuits had been a factor in that. He also mentions that the Franciscan fathers never ceased to find fault with the Jesuit administration, and wonders if there was Franciscan inspiration in the document. |
