Summary:Ó Briain refers to a recent controversy in the 'Leader' newspaper regarding a letter or article he wrote about the political situation in Europe. He takes a different view from Blythe about the possibility of war having been averted if Poland had yielded Danzig; he also discusses Russia's role in the destruction of Poland; the result of a German victory in the previous war; and compares the situation with the French/British wars of the late 18th and early 19th centuries. At the end he includes a copy of a letter he had sent to a Mr McDermottt. That letter is written in Irish.
