Summary:The issues addressed in these documents include slavery in the West Indies; the Jewish Civil Disabilities Bill; repeal of the Act of Union; better Poor Law provision for Ireland; the injustice of the system of Tithes; absentee landlords; the 1833 Act improving conditions for child workers in factories; road tolls; financial & banking legislation. There are also appeals for donations to assist the Trappist monks in Melleray (which monastery was founded in 1832 by a colony of Irish and English monks, expelled from France after the 1830 revolution). Other appeals include one for an orphanage to look after children left destitute after a cholera outbreak. There are also complaints from manufacturers in Ireland about the disadvantages they suffer vis-à-vis their English counterparts.
