To the knights, citizens, and burgesses in Parliament assembled :
the humble petition of the undersigned freeholders of the County of Kildare.
Summary: | Broadside, anti Act of Union petition - "We, the underwritten freeholders and inhabitants of the County of Kildare, beg leave to approach this honorable house, with the most sincery assurances of our inviolable attachment according to the settlement of 1782, and with the most anxious desire, as far as in us lies, to maintain it inviolate for ever. And we beg leave therefore, on the part of ourselves and our fellow subjects, with humble deference, to demand from the justice of this honorable house, the preservation of our rights and liberties, and the blessings of a free and independent Parliament resident amongst us". At foot of sheet: "And your petitioners will pray". |
