Summary: | Postcard designed by Austin Molloy [Abhuistín Ó Maolaoidh] commemorating the sixteen men who were executed for their involvement with the 1916 Easter Rising, including (inscribed on bottom right of the obelisk) the name of Roger Casement in Irish ['Mac Éasmuinn']. An Irish tricolour [with a Phrygian cap on top of it, the symbol of the French Revolution] is draped over the top. Underneath the Irish easter greeting are the words: 'Tis hope shall rise from Easter's morn, for joys that surely shall be born'. |
