Summary:Open letter [signed off on by Patrick Belton, (1884-1945)] to regional politicians regarding the introduction of a land bill by the Free State government. Extract from main text reads: "...The Minister in charge of this measure has the best wishes and support of the Land League. At the convention of the Land League, however, it was the unanimous opinion of the delegates that Land Purchase should not be introduced until after the financial adjustments with England, and until after every constituency was represented after a general election". Patrick Belton stood unsuccessfully for the National Democratic Party in the constituency of Laois-Offaly in the 1923 Irish general election; he was subsequently the founder and president of the Irish Christian Front, [an anti-communist, Roman Catholic organisation that existed from August 1936 to October 1937].
