Summary:Public order notice issued by Military Authority in Offaly that no fairs or markets may be held until attacks and murders cease or information is supplied which will lead to the arrest of those people responsible. First lines read: "Wheras warning has been given already that in the event of the continuace of outrages in this Brigade area, the holding of fairs and markets would be stopped and wheras in spite of the above warning, murders, attacks on the forces of the Crown, robberies, the destruction of property, and the blocking of roads still continue. Now therefore, I, Colonel Commander P.C.B. Skinner ... hereby order that until further notice no fairs or markets shall be held within three miles of the R.I.C. Barracks at Tullamore, Clara or Edenderry in King's County nor within three miles of the R.I.C. Barracks at Abbeyleix, Mountrath and Rathdowney nor within three miles of the Post Office at Post Office at Ballynakill in Queen's County nor within three miles of the R.I.C. Barracks at Athy in County Kildare nor within three miles of the R.I.C. Barracks at Tullow and Bagenalstown in County Carlow...". "Given under my hand this sixth day of June 1921. P.C.B. Skinner, Colonel-Commandant, commanding 14th Infantry Brigade, Competent Military Authority".
