Summary: | Newsclipping attached to bottom of sheet, underneath illustration reads: After mature deliberation the Corporation decided to reduce the Finance Committee's estimate by one penny. This may have been intended as a generous concession but it suggests rather a gesture of derision. Illustration depicts the members of Dublin Corporation as a group of portly men wearing top hats, smoking cigars ; "Reduced one penny" is written across their backs. In the foreground is a poverty stricken man, who appears to be in distress. |
