Notes: | Heaney's adaption of Sophocles' play 'Antigone', titled 'The Burial at Thebes', was commissioned by the Abbey Theatre as part of its centenary celebrations and first performed there on 31 March 2004. It was first published by Faber and Faber in 2004. MS 49,493/252 has been copied and the copies made available, as the original manuscripts contain personal details.
