Notes: | Heaney's adaption of Sophocles' play 'Antigone', titled 'The Burial at Thebes', was commissioned by the Abbey Theatre as part of its centenary celebrations and first performed there on 31 March 2004. It was first published by Faber and Faber in 2004. Taken from a folder originally marked as 'Antigone/Burial' by Heaney. Drafts compiled on the verso of pages containing draft prose pieces written by Heaney, including a fragment of a draft article on poet Hugh MacDiarmid and fragments of text from Dennis O'Driscoll's 'Stepping Stones'.
