Summary: | Irishtown Bridge built 1864 to replace bridge built 1635. It is planned to cover river from here to Shannon Lodge to provide an inner relief road. Site inside gate and hoarding was of Bandon Head Post Office 1907-1991. Shannon Lodge was residence of John Walsh M.P. 1909-1918. |
