Summary: | A fine, plain, double printed building at the corner of North Street. On the right is The Market House of 1755, recently vacated by the Ulster Bank. Attractive new iron railings edge the pavement in front. The line of Victorian buildings to the left of the iron railings follow the line of the former Church Lane, leading to St. Nicholas' Church. The gateway to the church, with a surrounding graveyard beyond, is Georgian and carries a modern bell tower. On the left is a modern replica of a Victorian "Big Lamp", removed some years ago as it was deemed to be a traffic hazard. Behind is an unhappy, new and entirely uncharacteristic butcher's shop. |
