Summary:Modern landscaping in Market Place. Looking South-East with the entrance to Belfast Lough in the distance, seen behind the replica of the victorian "Big Lamp". The buildings shown are victorian with modern shop fronts. The ornamental paving in the middle distance on the right commemorates the military career of Richard Kane (1662-1737), who is a distinguished citizen of the town. The railings at the point of the paved area support an oriental wrought iron representation of The Biblical Burning Bush to mark the beginning of Irish Presbyterianism here in 1642.
