Notes: | Title inscribed in ink on title page. Inscription in ink on recto of cover 'Mr. Thos. West / with Mrs. Anty. Clarkes [sic] sincere good wishes / Feby. 15. 1802'. Captain Cook undertook 3 voyages to the Pacific between 1768 and 1779, during which he achieved the first European contact with the eastern coastline of Australia and the Hawaiian Islands, as well as the first recorded circumnavigation of New Zealand.
