Summary:Arthur Wellesley, (1769-1852), 1st Duke of Wellington. Whole-length, to left, standing, facing and looking to front, in Portuguese uniform, riband over right shoulder, star of the Bath, holding telescope in right hand, left hand on hilt of sword, cocked hat and gloves on table behind to right, plans of battles 'Batalha de Talavera', 'Restauraçao do Porto' etc. on stool in front of him to left, balcony view with ships in distance.
