Summary:Arthur Wellesley, (1769-1852), 1st Duke of Wellington. Half length, directed to front, looking to left, in uniform with epaulettes, riband over right shoulder, Star of Bath pinned on his chest. Oval frame resting on the bank of a stream with tent in background to left, surrounded by military images including foliage, flags, swords, drums, laurel wreaths, cannons and bugles.
