And here's no. 12 of our "unknown location" Fergus O'Connor photos!
Had hoped that there'd be at least some pretence of difficulty locating this one, but it was not to be... Using the shop owned by Deasy's, a census search, and Google Street View, Niall McAuley tracked this street corner down to Dillon's Cross on the Ballyhooley Road in Cork.
Meanwhile, whatsthatpicture overlaid this photo on Street View on his Historypin channel to great effect - as he says, "use the fader bar at the bottom"!
And thanks to Mogey for finding us this location on the OSI historic maps.
Date: 1910?? (but definitely between 1900 and 1920)

Shop is labelled Deasy, so I searched the 1911 census for "Deasy" with "shop" in occupation, 4 results.
Checked Creagh, Skibberreen, too rural.
Ballyhooley Road, Cork on the other hand:
Dillon's Cross.

Have to say, I wasn't really seeing it at first from the angle on Street View, but once I looked at it from a few angles it looks spot on. Is this Ballyhooley Road the road that leads to our Ballyhooly?

For those who are interested in maps and old pictures, from www.flickr.com/photos/nlireland/map/ you can see NLI currently have 769 geotagged images. A better way of looking at these is to see them in Google Earth, which you can do via www.whatsthatpicture.com/flickr/commons.kml?owner=4729094... (you'll have to have Google Earth installed first).
Carol, I have written an automatic export/import tool to bulk transfer images from Flickr to Historypin if you're interested in setting up a channel? They'd look fantastic, and I'm happy to give you a hand.
