| Summary: | "The usual monthly meeting of the Committee of the above branch was held this day at their rooms, 7th July 1889. Mr. Edward Dunne P.L.G President in the chair, other members present James Kenna, Richard Ramsbottom, John Ramsbottom, Thomas Bradley, James Loughlin". Sends their warmest congratulations to Rev Father Maher and Mr. Kilbride M.P. on their release from Kilkenny jail. Also congratulates Father Kehoe and "all defenders of the Luggacurren evicted tenants now in Campaign Square" on their "victory" over Lord Lansdowne. Lord Lansdowne owned estates in Luggacurren, County Offaly, and he was famous for his evictions. Mr. Kilbride MP was evicted from his homes at Mountainview by Lord Lansdowne. |
