Notes: | Title inscribed in ink on p.3.. Inscribed in ink p.1.: A.M.D. / from his / affectionate / nephew / C.W.C. / 1881. Half calf binding. C.W. Cole contributed to The Graphic from April 1880, when he was appointed as special artist to report on events including the "Relief of Irish Distress" tour of the West and South coasts of Ireland by HRH the Duke of Edinburgh. He also covered the so-called Boycott Relief Expedition (12th - 26th November 1880) at Lough Mask, County Mayo for The Graphic. Some of the sketches were published, in slightly altered form, as wood engravings in The Graphic throughout 1880.
