Drawing looks as if it had been prepared for engraving. It was never engraved although another drawing of the same subject seen from outside, also by Angelo Maria Bigari (fl. 1772-1779), was engraved instead in F. Grose's Antiquities of Ireland, Vol I (London, 1791) Pl. 55. The number 5 inscribed u.r. on drawing would correspond to the number of the drawing given by Gabriel Beranger (ca.1730-1817), who accompanied Bigari on the tour of Connacht in 1779, in his catalogue notes of the drawings (See NLI, Ms 4162, page 5).
