Inscribed in pencil on opposite page: "Duleek derived from Damh-liac, i.e. House of Stone from St. Cianan who founded it in 488 & was baptized by St. Patrick in 450. In the Danish era it was often plundered. Brian Boromighs body lay here on the way from Swords, and the morning of the Battle of the Boyne King James attended Mass here. It was the first stone church in Ireland"
