Handwritten on verso, in iron gall ink: ‘Robert Travers to Borgle Travers Captain John Travers Nicholas English Esq. Archbishop Surgeon Price Captain John Travers (?) To R. Travers’'. The broadside also has another manuscript note [written in iron gall ink] in a contemporary hand on the verso - 'Brought by Coln. Craffords servant from Ballynemock'. [Ballinamuck, Co. Longford]. Colonel Robert Crauford was a commander of General Lake's at Ballinamuck, Co. Longford - where Humbert was defeated. There is a third partial script possibly in French.
