The broadside also has another manuscript note [written in iron gall ink] in a contemporary hand on the verso - 'Brought by Coln. Craffords servant from Ballynemock'. [Ballinamuck, Co. Longford]. Colonel Robert Crauford was a commander of General Lake's at Ballinamuck, Co. Longford - where Humbert was defeated. There is a third partial script possibly in French. |
