Letters from Samuel Beckett to Édith Fournier, his French translator, with one letter from Suzanne Déchevaux-Dumesnil to Fournier,
1962-1978.
Letters give advice to Fournier on her translation of Aidan Higgin's 'Naufrage' along with personal details such as their health and the health of Israel Horrowitz. Letters often ask Fournier to pass on his best wishes to their mutual friend Maya (Mania) Péron, a French resistance fighter of Russian origin who joined the Gloria network and helped recruit Beckett. She later helped him escape to the free zone after her husband's arrest and they remained close. Édith Fournier was a former student of Péron. (Information taken from bookseller's catalogue.)
