On his death in 1843, his two daughters Mary Isabella (1810-1891) and Elizbeth Oliver Gascoigne (1812-1893) inheritied his estates in Yorkshire and County Limerick. Mary Isabella married Colonel Frederick Charles Trench, a member of the Trench family of Woodlawn, Galway. Elizabeth married Frederic Mason Trench, 2nd Baron Ashtown. The sisters demolished the original castle and commissioned the present Castle Oliver in 1845. Elizabeth and Frederic Mason Trench lived there while Mary and Colonel Frederick Trench lived in Parlington Hall. Castle Oliver was inherited by William Cosby Trench (1869-1940). The last member of the Trench family to live in Castle Oliver was Lynn Trench. |
