Correspondence between Bloodaxe Books and John Montague regarding the translation of Eugène Guillevic’s ‘Carnac’ into English. The letters from editors Neil Astley, Tim Mathews and Michael Worton cover such topics as: the literary agreement and contract; copies of drafts with editorial notes and feedback; book specifications, such as sample covers; the author’s biographical note; catalogues of Bloodaxe Books' publications; seeking permissions to use translations in other publications; promotional material; and published copies of the original text, ‘Sphère suivi de Carnac’ (1963), and the Montague translations, (1994-1999). There is further correspondence with Stephen Romer about writing the introduction for 'Carnac' and the possibility of his putting together a ‘Faber Book of French Verse’, (1999-2000). Lastly, there is correspondence in French from Luci Guillevic Albertini, widow of Eugène Guillevic, to Montague, (1998-1999). Also includes some correspondence from members of the general public discussing the translation and newspaper and magazine articles.
