Seamus Heaney: copies of published pamphlets, poems and draft pieces of writing,

1969-1994.

The published material comprises: pamphlets - ‘A Lough Neagh Sequence’, 5 September 1969 and ‘An Open Letter’, 1983; and a copy of the poem “I am Raftery”, signed by Heaney 12 December 1990. The file further contains typescript drafts of the poems: “Fodder”; “Wheels Within Wheels”; “The Sounds of Rain”; and “A Royal Prospect” signed by Heaney. The latter three poems are also inscribed with the words “More heavy greenness” by Heaney, 1990. There is also a handwritten draft of a piece entitled “Home Farm” signed but undated by Heaney. Lastly, the file contains a typescript essay on the works of Polish poet Stanislaw Baranczak which is annotated by Montague, c. 1994.
