Correspondence from Morris Graves to John Montague about written pieces to accompany his exhibition, ‘From the Sheltered Edge: Twilight Creatures’, 1960. Drafts by Montague of the short essays are also enclosed. Secondly, there are exhibition catalogues with correspondence from Graves to Montague attached. The material relates to the exhibitions: ‘Morris Graves on the Occasion of his 3,048th birthday’, 1958’ ‘The Drawings’, 1970; ‘Vision of the Inner Eye’, 1983; ‘Sky of the Mind: Morris Graves 1937-1987’, 1989; ‘Morris Graves: Works of Fifty Years’, 1990; and ‘Vessels of Transformation 1932-1986’, 1991. Lastly there is a copy of ‘Reflected Light’ by Tim McNulty which concerns poems based on Graves’ work, 1991.
