Despite her successful musical comedy career in England and the US, Eileen O'Casey is best known for her roles in 'The Plough and the Stars' and 'Juno and the Paycock', both written by her husband, Dublin-born playwright, Sean O'Casey. During 1953-54, Helen Hooker O'Malley worked on two London productions of O'Casey plays. However, she first met Eileen O'Casey much later, in early 1970s New York. They remained friends for many years.
