Indenture between Cecilia Ball and Mable Clare Ball,

Indenture made between Cecilia Ball of Eccles St, Dublin, spinster, and her mother Mable Clare Ball of Eccles St, widow. The deed involves the transfer of £2500 of a legacy of £3000 left to Cecilia Ball by her father John Ball, from Cecilia Ball, "being disposed to retirement and having resolved to withdraw herself from the world" to her sisters Anna Maria Elizabeth Ball (later O'Brien), Isabella Ball (later Sherlock) and Frances Ball and her brother Nicholas Ball, dated 11th July 1805.

Notes:The Ball family were related to the O'Brien family by marriage - Cecilia Ball and Mable Clare Ball were the sister and mother, respectively, of Anna Maria Elizabeth O'Brien (née Ball), wife of John O'Brien, of Rahan, King's County (Offaly). In 1805 Cecilia became a nun, entering into the Ursuline Convent, Cork, on the 11th August, where she later became Superior. Cecilia and Anna-Maria were also the sisters of Frances Ball - Mother Frances Mary Teresa Ball who founded the Loreto sisters in Ireland - and Nicholas Ball MP, both of whom are mentioned in this deed.
